Pulmonary Rehabilitation
The Pulmonary Rehabilitation at The Abington of Glenview provides care to individuals post hospitalization with chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD), those with trouble breathing, challenges involving the lungs and bronchial tubes, emphysema and other lung conditions. At The Abington, pulmonologists work with a team including respiratory therapists, physical therapists, occupational therapists, social workers and dietitians to ensure you get exactly the care you need.
Under the supervision of Dr. Ilja Faibussowitsch, MD patients can expect education sessions where they discuss breathing, oxygen dosing, dietary education and one-on-one physical and occupational therapy to improve ability and independence.

Cardiac Rehabilitation
The Cardiac Rehabilitation at The Abington of Glenview is designed to provide patients with education and a monitored education after a heart failure or heart attack - as well as from post-surgical and non-surgical procedures. We are committed to stabilize and slow down the progression of cardiovascular disease.
Under the direction of board-certified Cardiologist Joel Okner, MD our team will help patients get back to their way of life. The interdisciplinary team consisting of Doctors of Medicine and Rehabilitation, Nurse Practitioners, Physical, Occupational and Speech Therapists as well as Dieticians will work on a customized program based on each individual.
Our Cardiac team will conduct onsite visits twice a week with educational programs to family and patient. We will organize an individualized care plan focused on striving to reach the patient’s optimal level of functioning. Our goal is to manage risk factors and assist with discharge planning and follow-ups post discharge.

Stroke Rehabilitation
Our Stroke Rehabilitation program is designed to help the stroke survivor become as independent as possible. After a stroke your brain will need to relearn some old skills. As a team we will work collectively to meet your goals prior to discharge and after. Our team consists of a psychiatrist, neurologist, speech-language pathologist, in addition to our physical and occupational therapists and dietitian. There are many approaches to stroke rehabilitation. Your plan will depend on the part of the body affected by the stroke. The friendly staff at the Abington will help in getting you to start simple exercises to help you rediscover how to sit up in bed, walk to the bathroom, dress, bathe and eat.

Orthopedic Rehabilitation
The Orthopedic Rehabilitation at The Abington is what we are known for! Our orthopedic team provides care to all patients that are post-surgery or following a traumatic injury. We are proud to provide therapy which has set us apart from other leading companies which include: back or spine surgery, hip and femur fractures, hip or knee replacements and more. Our highly trained and trusted therapists will work with patients with interventions toward achieving the highest outcomes for each individual. We offer a customized therapy program with one-on-one therapy up to 7 days a week.

Cosmetic
It’s important to factor in recovery planning. After procedures such as: facelift, liposuction, breast augmentation, tummy tuck, or butt lift, you’ll want someone to take care of you. Although home may be the preferred option, it may be best to recover at a licensed health care center where licensed nurses and certified nurses’ aides can take care of all your post-op needs.
