Beauty and Barber Shop

The Abington

Everyone feels better when they look their best. For a nominal cost, residents of the Abington can be seen regularly by professional hairstylists. Our salon not only offers hair care but manicures, pedicures and waxing as well. The decor of our salon is both warm and inviting.

Activities

The Abington schedules daily activities in which all residents are encouraged to participate and enjoy. We provide music, pet, art and horticultural therapies. The Activities Department also arranges community outings and events, special parties, organized clubs and more. Religious services are arranged so that residents of all denominations may participate. Activity calendars are posted throughout the facility and are announced daily. Hospice Services

The Abington believes that terminally ill individuals and their families deserve quality medical attention and a support system maximizing their quality of life. Hospice offers many services in coordination with the attending physician and the staff of the Abington. Please contact our nursing staff or social services for more information regarding hospice.

Dietary Services

The Abington

A Dietary Supervisor under the direction of a Clinical Dietitian, plan each and every one of the nutritious meals served to our residents. Our chef prepares each delicious meal in our modern kitchen facilities according to the needs of all residents, including those with special dietary requirements. We offer a variety of meals, including a list of substitutions and Kosher meals. Meals are served in the dining rooms at regularly scheduled times. A Private Dining Room is available for private parties. In addition, our dietary team provide a spectacular theme-buffet each month which guests are welcome to attend.

Specialty Physicians

In addition to your attending physician, there are a number of other specialists that will provide service to you within the facility upon your request. If you need a dentist, optometrist, podiatrist or audiologist we will gladly arrange these services for you. We encourage all residents to label their dentures and eyeglasses.
