Dear Mr. Phillip DeLeon, Jr and Yvonne Schlom,
Our aunt, Helen Neumann, was a resident in your facility for almost three years. We were impressed by how many of the staff called her by her name. The dining room staff was efficient and very caring.
We especially want to show our appreciation to two staff members. She received first class treatment by her nurse, Carol Fender. Carol was like a sister to us. So it was like we were leaving our aunt into the hands of a relative. She contacted us whenever she felt our aunt's condition warranted it. She never told us what to do regarding medical decisions, but she informed us of the choices we had. That helped us make the best possible decisions. She made things happen when doctors gave us the run around. Carol was very efficient when it came to our aunt's medical needs. She was also sensitive to our aunt's emotional needs. Our cousin died of a brain aneurysm while Aunt Helen was in residence at your facility. Our cousin had been living with Aunt Helen, so she took his death quite hard. Carol was very understanding.
Edna Lorico was also a treasure. She referred to our aunt as "Auntie Helen" which always made our aunt laugh. Our aunt was content just to sit, so we were pleased that Edna made her move her limbs. Edna did it in such a way that Aunt Helen was willing to cooperate with her. Edna was very special to our aunt and our aunt was very special to her.
You probably have more staff members that are excellent but we wanted to draw your attention to the two people that made our aunt's last years more enjoyable. After each visit, we felt confident leaving her because she was in such good hands.
